Overview

One of the wildest polo festivals in the world is the Shandur Polo Festival. The Shandur Polo Ground is situated in the North West and Chitral District of Gilgit-Baltistan, in the Ghizer district. It is a shared, common pass that connects these areas. Shandur is a level plateau that serves as both a border between Gilgit-Baltistan and the province of KPK. Shandur Polo Ground hosted the first-ever polo match in 1936. Since then, it has developed into the best polo field in the entire North Region. The distances between the polo ground and Chitral Town are roughly 155 km and 200 km, respectively.

The Shandur Polo Festival is unlike any other gaming festival in the world. This excellent polo field is situated approximately 3,743 meters above sea level. This ground's origins are also a remarkable tale of indigenous knowledge. There are lots of visitors to this polo field from all around the world. Different Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral teams compete in matches, with the Gilgit team and the Chitral team facing off in the championship game.

In this game, these teams have been competitors for generations. Witnessing a horse charge across the globe's roof is an amazing experience as well. The Gilgit-Baltistan attractions Shandur Lake, Langar, and Phandar Valley are also close to the Shandur Polo Ground. We've connected the Shandur Polo Festival to a well-organized journey across the Hindukush mountain region.

Dates & Cost – Shandur Polo Festival (14 Days)

Fall and summer are thought to be the best seasons for visiting Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan. The Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provincial governments always decide on the Shandur polo festival dates. Typically, July is when they take place. We meticulously select the dates for the Shandur Polo Festival, taking into account the volume of visitors and their enthusiasm in the event. Your arrival and departure dates from Pakistan are shown by the start and finish dates in the table below. At least one departure for the Shandur Polo Festival is assured. Below are the Shandur Polo Festival dates and prices.
